My yoga journey began in 2006 when my doctor prescribed the practice to my exercise regime for my lower back pains. The first 5 years of my practice were inconsistent, but I always found my way back to the mat with a different intention, whether it was for back pain, fitness, stress, boredom, or loneliness in a new city.
After I transferred to Arizona for my job, I found myself constantly stressed and extremely critical of my success in my career, physical fitness, and future. I decided I needed to make a change, so I committed myself to the mat for 20 days straight. After the 20-day commitment, my yoga journey took a complete transformation. I learned and experienced how to unite my mind, body, and spirit.
As my yoga practice evolved, so did my outlook on life. I discovered my best self, and learned how to incorporate the benefits of yoga in my everyday life to continue personal growth.
My yoga classes are geared towards building strength and flexibility with proper alignment through a Vinyasa style flow. My personal background in yoga includes a mixture of Ashtanga, Hatha, Vinyasa, and Bikrim yoga styles, so I like to incorporate a bit of everything in the classes I teach.
I have an overwhelming passion to guide others to, and through, their yoga journey. My intention is to help my students find their best selves on and off the mat.
When I’m not flowin’ or at work, I am cooking, spending time with my loved ones or writing in my blog.
