As a person with a busy work schedule is not uncommon to find myself in the mist of chaos as I wonder, “What happened to my day?”. It is easy to get lost on a day-to-day basis when one has to balance work, family, friends and life. It is not until now that I have learned to slow down, breathe and be in the present moment. This has opened my eyes and made me appreciate all the great things and people in my life, and in consequence made me a happier person. I never realized how important this was until I started yoga. Yoga has taught me how to balance life.
I started practicing yoga at Gaia Flow Yoga 2.5 years ago when I moved to Dallas for my fellowship training. My initial intention was just to do exercise. However I found so much more than that. With every yoga practice I noticed not only changes in my body, but also my mind and my spiritual well being. I began to realize that yoga is a way of life more than just exercise and enhancing flexibility.
I finished my teacher training in November 2013 and had an amazing experience. Not only did I have an amazing opportunity to study under great teachers but I was also able to meet a great group of people that shared my same feelings about yoga. This process gave me a whole new outlook on yoga. I knew I had found something that I planned to do for the rest of my life as yoga is a journey and not a destination. As I continue to grow in my practice and gain more experience teaching I hope to be able to share my love for yoga with the community and to help others find peace and balance in their lives. Namaste.
