New Yogis: One Week Unlimited Yoga for Only $29
My journey into yoga began in New York City, after long, demanding workdays when I was searching for a way to decompress. What started as a simple desire to unwind quickly turned into a deep, lasting love for the practice. As I moved through poses and learned to breathe intentionally, I felt a sense of calm and clarity that I had never experienced before. This sparked a curiosity that led me to dive deeper into the philosophy and teachings of yoga through workshops and international yoga retreats. I completed my 200-hour teacher training at Yogamaya in NYC, and from there, I continued my studies with Gaia Yoga Flow, expanding both my practice and understanding of the yogic path. Read More

“When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.”
Until the age of 33, I was not ready to be a student. I was too convinced I had everything in life figured out already. That was until the life I had been living turned upside down.
After my wakeup call, I realized I was in the worst shape of my life, both physically and mentally. When my sister tried to drag me to a yoga class, I resisted at first, but ultimately decided, “What do I have to lose?”
While I struggled through that first class, when we all laid down to rest at the end of practice I felt an overwhelming sense of peace and stillness, something I desperately needed. I was hooked and wanted more.
Although I was first drawn to the physical practice of yoga,Read More

I have been a fitness enthusiast ever since I can remember. Sports were my jam. In my teenage years, I had put on weight and was looking for a way to take it off as a young adult. I joined a gym, and later found Cross Fit. The weight came off fast with a steady workout regimen and healthy diet. My body felt tight even with the mobility I would do at times and I was looking for something else to ease my muscle stiffness. That is when I found yoga. It was amazing! I was able to open parts of my body that I could not do in my other work outs.Read More
I later decided I needed to learn more about the spiritual side of yoga. I investigated books at first to expand my knowledge, but decided I wanted a class with actual interactions and more formative information. While looking online, I found Gaia Flow Yoga. “Love is why” was the motto and their first teacher training class in the spring of 2019 started on my birthday. I knew this just had to be a sign! I quickly signed up and anxiously waited for the first class. The energy and love that I found through training at GFY has truly transformed my life. I am so glad I took the plunge to begin this next chapter of my life of inner peacefulness.
My yoga journey began with a simple curiosity about mindfulness, but it quickly evolved into a deep passion for the transformative power of yoga.
Our community is where everyone can explore their own yoga journey. I’m looking forward to practicing and growing together through our community toward greater health, happiness, and mind fulfillment.

A little bit about who I am…
I was born in Michigan but California is my homeland. My parents, sisters and brother made my childhood idyllic. I have been married for almost 30 years to a wonderful man who still makes me smile. My two sons own my heart and I love my grandchildren so much it hurts. I have been blessed with two darling daughters-in-law that I have added to my list of cherished family members. I am grateful for all of my friends, some of whom I have known most of my life.

Why I became a yoga teacher…
My yoga journey began because of a damaged hip from a childhood injury and too much running.I took my first Gentle Waves class at Gaia Flow Yoga thinking that if I did a little yoga I would be able to return to my previous athletic activities. Yoga did help my damaged hip feel better, but the sense of calm that washed over me when I was in a yoga studio peaked my interest. There are a lot of yoga studios in the area, but I choose Gaia Flow Yoga because of the “Love is Why” philosophy. Every time I walked through the studio doors the instructors knew my name, they knew of my injuries and were genuinely interested in my well being. I surprised myself when I signed up for teacher training and was even more surprised when I agreed to teach some classes. I am honored to become a Gaia Flow Yoga instructor!
I began my yoga practice four years ago, and just like the best things in life, the transformation was amazing and unexpected. Not only did I see the changes in my physical body, but also, in the manner, I lead and experienced my life. I too was one of those strangers, outside of the studio’s window, wondering how these human beings could touch their head with their toes or how anyone in the world could put themselves in such inspiring yet vulnerable positions, and what I have realized it just that it takes practice and patience.
As a student, I have explored several yoga and barre studios, my favorite classes are those that teach you how to simply breathe, feel, and live in the moment. It is in those moments in which I have discovered a lot about myself and in turn, how beautiful and capable humanity is of growth and compassion if we just give ourselves a little bit of time.
As an instructor, I hope to guide you to where you need to be and give you the tools for you to become the greatest and full expression of your true and authentic self. See you on the mat.

My yoga journey began late in 2017. It was something I was introduced to and was very hesitant towards even giving it a try. Coming from the mentality of being a “gym bro” I had a misconception of what yoga was. I think a lot of males have this mindset that yoga is just a bunch of “stretching” and people in multi-colored yoga pants. While the second part may be true. I was quickly humbled by the practice. I was humbled the first time, the first week, the first month, the first year, and I’m still humbled to this day. For all my gym strength did not translate over to yoga. It was at first a bit frustrating, I am competitive by upbringing, nature, and culture. This is something that takes time to devolve from. Learning to love the process. Love the journey. Not worry about the result, not worry about why a pose doesn’t look a certain way. To me this is one of the most beautiful things I’ve learned in yoga. The ability to keep pushing yourself, while maintaining happiness with where you currently are, and that where you are is right where you are supposed to be. For me this is the balance of my competitive ways, while pushing myself in my practice.Read More
Yoga has brought me a pure joy over these past couple of years and there is no future path I have that won’t have yoga involved in one or another. When I joined teacher training through Gaia Flow Yoga, it was cause I wanted to further my practice while getting to know my fellow Gaia students better. Gaia Flow Yoga has such a strong community and I think that’s one of the many reasons why I was attracted. Before I was done completing teacher training, I knew deep down I wanted to teach, and I wanted to share the knowledge and joy that it had brought me with others. I’ve really developed a love for all things Inversions or handstands. There’s something peaceful about being able to hold these poses that require strength and balance. Nothing else in the matter’s world to me and my focus feels like it goes beyond 100% when I’m doing my inversion practice. Whether you are new to yoga or experienced, come join me on the mat anytime for an always strength building, inversion, high flying good time. There’s always a place for everyone I say.
Gaia Flow Yoga has become my home away from home, and I am grateful for the opportunity to teach here. I believe that Gaia Flow’s values of love and mindfulness align with my own, and it’s a pleasure to be part of such a supportive and inclusive community.
Through Gaia Flow’s love-based practices, I now know that yoga is more than just physical exercise; it’s a way of life that helps us connect with our inner selves and the world around us. My goal as a teacher is to create a safe and welcoming space where you can deepen your practice and connect with your truth. I look forward to sharing the transformative power of yoga with you both on and off the mat!
My journey with yoga began in 2012. I remember my first class vividly. I was having so much fun, laughing, breathing heavily and no idea what I was doing. But I remember that after that class I loved the way I felt. Ever since then I was hooked.
In the beginning it was all about the work out and the poses, but as I progressed and went deeper into my practice it was more about self discovery and balance. I wanted to gain more knowledge and experience so I decided to go through teacher training, and enjoyed every moment of it. What came out of that training was discovering my love for teaching yoga.
Meet me on the mat and look forward to practicing together.
All my love, all my light.
My yoga journey started as a means of exercise. At the beginning it was all about the poses, I was looking for a workout and it turned out to be so much more than that. Finding a yoga studio that suits you is like finding a life partner. You may be one of the lucky ones who found it the first time around, but for me it took several different tries before I found my studio, Gaia Flow Yoga, the one that feels
like home. It is truly amazing how it makes such a difference in my practice and how much improvement I see within myself, as one whole aspect of mind, body, and spirit. Yoga teaches me to be disciplined, content, loving, compassionate, and to always be present.
I never envisioned myself to be a yoga instructor; I had so much to learn and so much to work on myself. I realize now it doesn’t matter where I’m at, there is always something new to learn and I will continuously improve myself and grow in my practice. I am truly grateful for each and every class that I get to teach and sharing my knowledge to my students is such an honor & joy. I look forward to my journey both as a student and a teacher. I hope to see you soon on the mat!

Yoga is as natural as breathing. I feel safely at home in my mind, body and soul. Yoga has set me free in every way imaginable. Free to be truly myself, accepting of all aspects of who I am the dark and the light. Yoga is my daily teacher of pure love, surrender, patience, kindness, compassion, vulnerability, courage and strength. I’m extremely grateful for my practice, it’s a continual liberation of my soul.

I am completely in love with yoga in its entirety. Like most, I used to think yoga was just stretching. Gaia Flow Yoga taught me that Yoga is a marrying of the mind and body; a partnership that works in conjunction with one another, a beautiful tapestry connecting mind, body, and soul.

Yoga has taught me to be present and given me a true growth mindset that has seeped into my practice off the mat. The asanas that once seemed impossible have become possible. I apply it to the challenges in my daily life. Thinking, “If I can touch my head with my toes, then I can certainly handle this too”.
Yoga is more than stretching. It’s a lifestyle of letting go to grow. I can’t wait to share and join your yoga journey! #loveiswhy

A desert dweller at heart, I am so happy I now live in Texas and found Gaia Flow Yoga. I grew up in Albuquerque and graduated from the University of New Mexico with a degree in architecture. After working in that field for a year, I switched gears and worked in higher education. When my second son was born, I was able to make being a mom my full time job, my favorite job so far. After a two year stint in Las Vegas, NV my husband and I, along with our three sons, moved to Texas.
Once we were settled and the boys a little older, it was during the spring of 2014 when I nervously walked into my first yoga class. One hour later, I knew I found something so special, it would be with me for life. I have always enjoyed physical activity whether it was dance lessons as a child or workouts at the gym as a young adult. After having children, I attempted running, but it seemed like every time I found a good pace, something would derail me and send me back to the beginning. I finally listened to the aches of my body and frustrations of my mind telling me to change.Read More
Little did I understand that when I took that first yoga class, that yes, my body would evolve, but so would my mind and spirit. I found the path I had unknowingly been searching for. Soon after that first class, I signed up for teacher training simply to learn more. Now, I am so grateful that I get to share this transformative practice. One of the things I love about yoga is that it reminds me of architecture – there is foundation and function balanced with creativity and fluidity, all with the intent to enhance life exactly as it is. My classes provide the space for you to explore your own yoga practice. Whether it’s your first time on the mat or you’ve practiced for many years, whether you need a challenge or you need to take care of yourself, through compassionate teaching, there is always a place for you. I was born in the UK, in a house near the river Thames that flows to London. I grew up climbing the trees by the river near an ancient hunting lodge of King Henry VIII. I believed in the fairies who lived in my garden. Feeling their presence taught me that magic is all around us. It is life.
I was a good athlete, nimble and agile. I loved to dance and tumble outside, twirling with the wind, often dressed in flowing robes. The goddess within manifested at a young age of which I was unaware until many years later. I succeeded well by pure intuition. I never really planned anything as far as a career but it all worked out wonderfully.

Teaching yoga allows me to share a beautiful practice that brings about self awareness. It brings one into the present moment, appreciating the breath, acknowledging the environment, accepting what is. Practicing yoga changes ones life.
We learn to love ourself, accepting our highest truth, knowing we are all beings of energy and light, created to serve the divine force of the universe. I am truly blessed to be part of Gaia Flow Yoga, having the opportunity to share and guide others to a place of peace, well-being and love. It is a beautiful journey and I invite you to join me.

In 2019, my life was changed when I walked into Gaia Flow Yoga. Before then, yoga was more of a physical workout, along with running and HIIT training, with no true feeling of connection. After a difficult year, my focus shifted to other exercises and my body reacted with incredibly tight shoulders and hips. I decided yoga would be the best way to strengthen, stretch and heal my body. The sense of community and a newfound awareness of the spiritual side of yoga really surprised me after my class. Over time, my appreciation of the studio deepened and coming to class felt like home. My body loosened up and I felt more relaxed than I had in years! I want to share my experience with others and decided to embark on teacher training. My 200 Hour training was completed in November 2020.

“Yoga is a journey of the self, through the self, to the self”
Yoga found me during a rough season of my life in 2014. This practice grew over the course of several years into a big part of my life. At first, I was primarily focused on the physical asanas. Shortly after I started to look forward to my time on the mat.
I started to notice that I was feeling different. Small shifts internally started to project outwardly in my everyday life. My thoughts…my words…my actions.
Yoga gave me a place to reflect, andRead More
I use to be so focused on appearing to have everything “right” that I never gave myself space to be me. I had placed all of these expectations on myself that I thought everyone else wanted. These expectations limited me from feeling and experiencing the deep joys of life. Yoga gave me a space to be free. A new beginning.
I teach because I want to give my students a safe and loving place to find the way back home to themselves.

Passion started to materialize; when I began teaching others to be healthier individuals, by becoming a personal trainer yet I always kept another job for “just in case”. I didn’t trust in myself, to let go.
And then I found Gaia Flow.
I started to train people out of the gym adjacent to the original Gaia Flow Studio, Addison Circle Yoga. I used to watch the classes through the glass and couldn’t take my eyes off all the movement.
Finally, I went to a practice and that was it. I had been to other styles of yoga before but nothing that I ever felt a spiritual connection.
Yoga helped me to forgive myself for so many things in my past, connected me to something I can’t even begin to explain, helped me to move forward as a human being and helped me to trust in myself. I knew I had to become a yoga teacher and thanks to the powers that be, all the doors opened.
I had been lacking something my entire life and now, I finally feel more whole, more balanced and I finally found my flow.
Now, thanks to yoga, I am on a new journey through life, a Spiritual one.
Love and happiness for all . . .

I started practicing yoga routinely while I was in college at SMU. During my time there I met an Irish choreographer who introduced me to Hatha yoga. I ended up traveling the UK with him and his dance troupe while they were on tour the next year. I practiced yoga with the dancers each day and began to learn about Ayurvedic philosophy and the spiritual nature of yoga.
After college I went took classes occasionally at various studios around Dallas until settling into a home studio at Sync in Oak Cliff. When they folded just before the pandemic, my practice dissolved entirely. Over the next few years I found myself in a very darkest headspace – my body, mind, and spirit felt heavy and weak.Read More
A series of life changes led me across town to Oak Lawn. I was beginning to reinvest in my physical and mental health so I made a list of studios to try out. Gaia was first on the list. I stumbled into Weekend Warrior one day, tried out several classes that week, and signed up for a membership the next month.
One day Chrystal approached me before Ocean class and encouraged me to check out teacher training. It was something I’d been considering for years, so I decided to go for it…
And I’m so glad I did! The Gaia family is beautiful. I feel profoundly grateful to have been welcomed into this community and to have the opportunity to teach and practice with you, my fellow yogis.

Like so many, my yoga journey began with the desire to lose weight. And it worked, which was great! But more exciting than the physical transformation, was the mental shift that occurred for me almost immediately.
I didn’t realize how “stuck” I was until I got quiet in yoga. After an hour of flailing around on my mat (yes, that’s how we ALL start) I was finally able to find some freedom. Freedom from my judgmental thoughts, my berating self talk, my biases, my desperate need to fit in and be liked, my social anxiety and my lack of energy.
With consistent practice, my body began to open up in ways I never imagined possible. My mind too began to open up to new possibilities. I become a much more aware person.Read More
I knew after only a handful of practices that I wanted to help other people experience the shift and the joy of yoga. I practiced as much as I could and within a year I was entrenched in my very first 200 hour yoga teacher training with Sheri Cherokee of Alpha Omega Yoga. I hit the ground running and have since undergone subsequent trainings with Gaia Flow Yoga and Sadie Nardini. I continue my education by attending classes, workshops and retreats offered by my inspiring fellow yogis, practicing with my community as often as I can.
The stillness that yoga brings is a filter for the noise we all carry around in our head. That noise is the constant conversation we have with ourselves. The conversation that can harbor our fears instead of our love if we aren’t vigilant.
There are so many things we can do to foster positive change for ourselves, and yoga is just one tool. None of us are on an identical journey, but our paths are intertwined. Let’s make our next meeting on the mat.
“Can’t hurt to give it a try.” That was my mentality as I walked into the Addison Gaia Flow Yoga studio at the beginning of 2017. I was feeling burned out at the gym and stressed out at work. When I signed up for the first week special, I said to myself, “I’ll just take a break from my normal workout routine.”
The first week special turned into a month that turned into a year of consistent practice, and that year brought about physical, mental, and emotional changes that I couldn’t have predicted.
Like many people, I was drawn first to the physical health benefits of yoga. My primary goal was to stay in shape, and the classes I was taking were more physically demanding than any previous workout routine I had tried.Read More
Practicing yoga also continues to teach me to stay in the present moment. Holding a posture in space while continuing to breathe is the physical expression of a powerful idea – the idea that I will maintain presence in my own life throughout its highs and lows. I will not be absent by dwelling on what could have been or worrying about what could be. I will stay in the here and now.
See You Soon!

I feel that the communion between mind, body and soul is something we as humans inherently gravitate toward in seeking our True selves.
In my case, finding my personal practice of yoga felt a lot like coming home from a long lost journey. There has always been a kind of familiarity to it even from my first practice. It was almost like I had been practicing yoga before I knew what it was, it felt so natural. Like pulling back an old dusty but familiar curtain and delighting in rediscovering the hidden love for myself and others that had always been there.
I finally realized I was a yogi! And everyone else is a yogi too!

Every time I teach my heart is filled with gratitude for my student’s willingness to share their unique practice and energy with me.
My Yoga journey began over 2 years ago when a medical crisis made me re-evaluate my life choices. I’ve been an aerobics instructor and personal trainer for over 30 years. My physical health was unquestionable. However, as I got older, my mental and spiritual health became more of a focus. They are so intertwined with your physical health. I had practiced different forms of Yoga for years but not consistently. My New Year’s resolution became “practice Yoga regularly and become a Yoga Teacher”.
After investigating several Yoga trainings, I kept coming back to Gaia Flow training. The fact that it is “Love-Based” is extremely important to me. Love no matter what the spirituality or modality is a healing practice. I completed the RYT-200 Yoga Teacher training in June 2017 and to my wonderment, began experiencing improvements to my overall health almost immediately.Read More

My yoga journey began in October of 2019 at Gaia Flow Yoga, where I had my first practice. Yoga found me during a rough and challenging time in my life when I was searching for relief from the daily anxiety I experienced as a result of a horrible car accident. It was at a time when I felt very disconnected from myself both physically and mentally. I have always been interested in what I perceived as being “healthy” and in shape, but always for the physical benefits and never really understanding the mental health benefits.
I was previously at a job I once loved but was growing out of, and over time began to feel lost and unfulfilled. I realized I was seeking a deeper connection to something and also wanted to be able to give back in some way.Read More
Yoga is my forever medicine. Within the first year of consistent practices, I experienced such dramatic growth, mentally, spiritually and physically that I knew this was something I had to share with others. I teach because I love my students and I know, through my own experience, how impactful yoga can be on one’s soul.
I believe in some way, we are all looking to find peace and calmness within our lives. Yoga gives us that opportunity in a beautiful, challenging, and exciting way, allowing us to connect to ourselves on a deeper level and leading us to a place of self-discovery. I can’t wait to see you on your mat!
Always a student, sometimes a teacher.

Yoga changed my life. I was living on auto-pilot, doing what I thought “I should do”, saying what I thought “I should say” and being what I thought “I should be” and there was absolutely no joy.
My everyday existence was a heavy backpack full of responsibility that I labeled – be good! Be good because you not good enough. Oh yeah, I was “good” and miserable. I was trying to be good enough to be loved. I was trying to love myself.
Then my life was literally turned upside down. A twist of fate and I went flying off a 25-foot cliff, flipped 10 times before landing upside down in a crumpled car with the headlights and the wheels spinning into darkness.Read More
I soon discovered that the poses didn’t matter except as roadmaps to truth. And, the truth is that we are all perfectly imperfect and that’s “good enough.” There is no need to strive. Just show up on your mat and in your life with love, with truth, and with kindness and then everything else works itself out.
Now, fifteen years later, I am in the best shape of my life on all levels – happier, healthier and more balanced. Yes, life still has it ups and downs, which definitely keeps it interesting, sometimes more than I’d like, but I always find my way back to my center point of love and presence rooted in my daily yoga practice.
I know that yoga works and thats why I am so happy to share the gift and the love of yoga with you. Yoga will change your life. All you have to do is show up. But, please don’t take my word for it. As a matter of fact, don’t take anyone’s word for it. Come! Experience it for yourself. You don’t have to go flying off a cliff to find truth, to find love, and/or heal your life. Just unroll your yoga mat. That’s it. It is that easy. COME! Meet me on the mat today and lets practice together! You will be glad you did. YOGA changes lives.
From my heart directly to your heart, all my love, all my light, and all my blessings.
Much love
Chrystal Rae
“Yoga for me is as natural as breathing.”
My yogic journey began in summer 2003. After my first class, I discovered a new life course. Yoga for me is as natural as breathing. Since that first class, I have practiced many different styles of yoga and studied with many powerful yogis, including my teacher trainings with many talented and wise teachers, most importantly my mentor and best friend Chrystal Rae Almeida.
I have a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Texas at Dallas. After graduation, I moved into the corporate world. Though, I am very grateful for all that I have learned and I still have a passion for business, Yoga is my true calling.Read More
